Orthodoxy Transforming Episode #2. Spirituality is usually juxtaposed to materialism leading to the idea that to deny oneself the pleasures of the world means to be more spiritual. This cannot be the case if simple logic is applied to the faulty premise. The material world is not evil. Punishing oneself is not spiritual. In this podcast, we dispense with this particular approach to spirituality giving good reasons why it is faulty and logically inconsistent with reality. Spirit and material are not necessarily at odds. The material world is not evil. Once we remove asceticism as a possible definition of spirituality, we will move on to remove one more misconception in the next podcast.
